What a wonderful conference session we had. Although we had conference in different places and with different surroundings we felt united in their messages of hope. Amidst the turmoil in our world, we know we can rely on our Prophet to guide us and keep us safe. I am looking forward, as many of you, to rereading the conference addresses in the upcoming Ensign to be inspired again.
How can we keep the messages of conferences embedded in our hearts? Here's some ideas:
* "General Conference Quiz Night": Each family member gets to create 3 questions from conference for the others to answer.
* Write in your journal your impressions or promptings that you received
* Use the May 2009 Conference edition as the text for your Family Home Evenings for the next six months
* Act on those promptings you received during conference
* Look up the scriptures and articles in the footnote section of the talks
* Look in the index portion of the conference edition under a topic you want to study and study the articles it references
* Watch the talks again on http://lds.org/conference/sessions/display/0,5239,23-1-1032,00.html
* Listen to the talks on CD when you are driving or working in the kitchen
* Frame a picture of the First Presidency in your home
* Learn more about the apostles and First Presidency's lives by reading about their lives
* Spotlight a general authority in your FHE each week or each month
* Purchase an extra copy of the conference edition for each member of the family to mark for themselves. Teach your children how to highlight important phrases and write notes in the margins.
* Come to the "Cover to Cover" group to discuss these articles in-depth
