Family History is gaining speed and popularity these days. With the church's new edition of Family Search, doing your family history is not only easier but simpler too. Great efforts have been made to have all the information you need within your own home on your own computer. There are many benefits to this new program. These include adding PAF (Personal Ancestry Files), less steps to be Temple Ready, can prepare your Temple Ready information from home, check recent temple work for ancestors, and much more. Many hearts are being turned to their fathers and their children as is states in Malachi 4: 6. This is a prophesy that we will see come to pass in these latter days through family history work.
How can I sign up for the new program?
First, you need to obtain your membership number and your confirmation number. Your membership number appears on your temple recommend, if you have one, or you can ask the ward clerk for this number. You can also ask the ward clerk for your confirmation number.
Second, go to the New Family Search website. The address is: www.new.familysearch.org (make sure you enter the period after new to make this work).
Third, register for the New Family Search using your membership number and confirmation number to create a sign in name and password (both of your choosing).
Now the search begins....
