Now that I am older, I've found other ways to enjoy conference...like in the comforts of my own home. This has been nice too! I love family traditions so it's no surprise that I enjoy finding ideas to make conference more enjoyable for everyone. So, here are some of my favorite sites to find ideas:

- Create an interactive Conference wall. Every one of the apostles or the prophet speaks on a specific topic, the children can place their picture on the wall. (click on the link for more details)
- Conference Wall (II). Actual printouts and directions are included. Link to her "Watchmen on the Tower" FHE is part of this blog entry.
- Create a "quiet table" where they can work on a simple craft, color, or have a snack. (click on the link for more details)
- Create a Conference Basket (Ensign October 2005 p. 70). Include notebooks, pens, candies, crayons, coloring pages, erasers, Conference BINGO boards, etc.
- "Conference Reverence Tent" story from the Friend (Oct. 2008 p. 36). Pitch a tent and have it face towards the television screen where your children watch conference (like people did in King Benjamin's time). This family in the story brought their scriptures, old General Authority charts from Ensigns, glue sticks, scissors, crayons, etc. to enjoy during conference.
- Find it on the map! Every time a country is mentioned in conference you find that country on the map.
- Conference Center True/False Quiz (Friend April 2001 p, 38). How much do you know about the Conference Center? There was an Ensign that showed pictures throughout the Conference Center. If you find that, let me know and I'll add it to the list.
- General Conference Snack. Choose a snack to go along with each topic that might be discussed during General Conference. Every time that topic is spoken of your children can have one of that snack item. See chart below or visit link.
- If you are seeking an answer from the Lord, ask that you might receive an answer by listening to the speakers during conference
- Take notes of speakers, music, videos shown (have a FHE conference quiz on Monday), scripture mastery scriptures discussed, color of ties, etc.
- Conference Journal for ages 12-18 (click to view)
- Write down personal revelations or promptings received during conference
- Write your thoughts in a journal. Here's one using a Young Women's journal. This version includes tabs to add to the journal.
- What do you think the theme of conference was?
- How can you apply the messages to your life?
- Who was your favorite speaker? Story? Why?
- What are the stats? How many missions in the world? How many members of the church in the world? How many languages? Which new temples were announced? Any new changes in the General Presidencies?
- Was there a specific message to the youth? What was it? Who said it?You're in Charge! Prepare a FHE lesson from General Conference to share with your family
- Define the terms. What is a Prophet? Seer? Revelator? How are they similar? How are they different? What is an especial witness vs. special witness?
