A thought about Food on the Trek

I have been thinking more about the pioneers lately and wondering how what they brought in their wagons for their long trek west compares to what we should have in our food storage.  Of course, we have the advantages of keeping our food stored in our pantries, shelves, and freezers instead of bringing everything we have on a wagon. Do we have what we need to meet our basic needs?
