We are Daughters of our Heavenly Father

In this holiday season there are so many wonderful things to celebrate; the love of family, good friends, and of course not the least of these being the birth of our Saviour. Beautiful colors and lights and songs are everywhere you turn. Children singing carols, dancing about the Christmas tree with the excitement building more and more each day. But how many of us stop to remember who we are? As women and mothers and grandmothers we are burning the candle at both ends trying to make everyone’s Christmas wishes come true. Trying to keep Santa and the Savior each in the correct focus. Keeping it all balanced isn’t easy. If we each stop for a few minutes and remember who we are, daughters of a Heavenly Father who loves us and we love Him. We are women of great faith. We brought our faith with us when we came to the earth. Alma teaches us that in the premortal realms we exhibited “exceeding faith and good works. We fought with our faith and testimony to defend the plan that was presented by God. We knew the plan was good and we knew that our Saviour would do what He said He would do-because we knew Him! We stood with Him, and we were eager for our opportunity to come to earth. We knew what was going to be required of us. We knew it would be difficult, and yet we were confident not only that we could accomplish our divine mission but that we could make a difference. Perhaps, remembering who we are and that the birth of our Saviour was all part of the same great plan, will help us keep Eternal Priorities in this ever increasing temporal celebration. God bless each of you and your families this Christmas Season.
Love,
Cindy DeMill
