Family History Trees and More

Family History is for everyone!  It can start by just telling stories about your childhood or stories about family members that are living or have passed on.  Your children will love hearing about where their family came from (and might learn a little about history too).  Talking about your family tree creates discussion when you are around "unknown" family around the holidays or reunions.  Below are some resources that might be helpful:

Family History Christmas Tree.  I clipped this picture out of a magazine many years back (unsure of source) and have help onto to it for its uniqueness.  Pictures of ancestors, old baby and family pictures, and newer family photos are framed in gold and silver hanging frames.  Click on pictures to enlarge.

New Family Search- This is the updated version of Family Search.  Now you can add your names and make them Temple Ready all from your home.  Connect your family lines and see what work is waiting to be completed. 
Ancestry.  Lots of resources and projects are available.  Projects include family history books, photo books, family tree posters, calendars, etc. 
Thanksgiving Village Ward Family History.  Here you will find lots of family history articles, kid friendly activities, information on Heritage Scrapbooking, tips on how to start your personal blog, family tree printables, and so much more!
Family History page on Sugardoodle. 
Genealogy for Kids.  Print off kid-friendly family history trees to fill in.
Heritage Makers.  Lots of projects to choose from (storybooks, calendars, necklace and bracelets, etc.)
Snapfish Calendars.  Create a personalized calendar with family dates and pictures.  Family pictures can be placed on the calendar date itself.  Add ancestors too!

• Create a timeline of family birthdays, anniversaries, events, etc. 
• Display Family Heirlooms (quilts, antiques, furniture, etc.)
